This morning DH was sat eating his breakfast before departing for work, DTS were still in bed so I decided to exercise to my new DVD by the The Firm collective. This one is called Maximum cardio.

After the warm up, the trainer tells us to pick up our weights and get our fanny lifters ready!!!.

Cue DH spurting his tea over the dining table, me falling about laughing.

Ten seconds later, DH realises that fanny in America means bottom.

Ah, what a great way to start the day!!!

I once worked with an American volunteer who said to a whole classroom full of children "Everyone sit on their fanny!" and then wondered why they just looked a bit bemused (Year 1). She was mortified when she found out what it means here. Lucky they weren't any older
