MarsLady I just came across your story (in this thread ) about your hv telling you your baby's mongolian blue spot was a sign of abuse!

DD still has hers at nearly 10 months and I've always found it really sweet.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It is dreadful how racist the older generation is and it is so stupid as my son gets hassle for being brown in Scotland and he is only a quarter hispanic but took the colour and the chocolate brown eyes and hair - but is really tall like a white guy lol well, he is only six years old lol
And I was tormented growing up in a backwater called - Dunfermline, I had hell for my Colour, in Scotland there are less ethic minorities apart from the Asian community. So my Mom should get a grip, she will never change though

i was born in san ignacio, belize about 9 miles from Benque Viejo.

hi i have just discovered spot on my baby.
i am white british and hubby is white british but with sicilian grandfather.
i have very olive skin..
i asked hv about this bruising that ithought was from birth ans she told me it was a case of th mongoloian blue spot. i had never heard of it. sounded like a monty python sketch to me, she then proceeded to question my ethnicity and di not believe me!!! what a laugh,
was advised to register at docs and get it marked in red book, daughter is now famous for this in surgery. 2 doctors came to look at her back
