Any German mums in Leeds or Bradford?

Hi,

I’m a new mum wanting to connect with other Germans or German speakers. Is anyone aware of groups in the Leeds/Bradford area?

I’m German and my husband is British. Our baby boy is only 5 weeks and I already speak German to him.

Any pointers would be highly appreciated x

There’s the Wharfedale German Circle - I’ve never been because I was worried it might be a bit old lady-ish, but I have a German friend who has been a few times. She’s never given feedback.....
There is a German church in Leeds if that’s your kind of thing. Nice for Christmas service.

The other thing you might consider: is there some kind of Verein organised by the embassy? I only say this because my mother was in just your position 50 years ago and ended up meeting her closest adult friends via the Swiss club.

The other thing that might be worth doing is finding out if there’s a playgroup near either Leeds or Bradford university. I lived in Sheffield when my DS was tiny (a long while ago, so I am quite envying you the baby snuggles! I hope you’re enjoying it!), and found there were loads of international parents in the baby groups round the university there, particularly the one attached to the university. So maybe try Headingley kind of area and see if you come across anyone. (That sounds a bit of an unstructured approach, apologies!).
