Should I get my dd.'s hair trimmed ? I used to try and do it myself but it's well not easy ? If I should get it done how often ?

It's hair, of course you should get it trimmed.

I don't get why you are asking this? I have two mixed race boys who always have their hair trimmed, hair is hair.

Omg I feel terrible now Shock well I wasn't sure to be honest as I was told every 6 months by an Afro hairdresser , so how often do you get it done ? Obviously boys don't tend to grow their hair that long but I have girls x 3

My boys hair grows very fast so we tend to get it done every 3 weeks. With girls they obviously wear their hair longer so six months sounds about right. I thought you meant should you ever get it trimmed Grin

My boys have a cut every 4 weeks and a shape up in between every 2 weeks.
Dd has had her hair trimmed every 2 months, now she is old enough to pay for it herself she goes to the hairdressers every couple of weeks for braids or straightening or whatever madness she fancies that day Grin

Yea see if I had boys I would keep their hair short , I live in a area where it's all white hairdressers , but I will start getting hair trimmed more often .

You could always ask local black or mixed race ladies where they get their hair done, often people have hairdressers come to their house who specialise in afro-Caribbean hair, they might be able to recommend someone.

Yes I have had a hairdresser recommended to me on here so
I'm going to call them up and arrange something :)

My teen DS has just grown his hair into a huge afro.

It hasn't been cut for about 18 months.

He seems to think it doesn't need trimming, but it looks pretty shaggy to me.

Any recommendations for W Yorkshire area barbers?
