I love Kinky Curly products. I discussed them on another thread so I'm going to be lazy & basically copy & paste my comments here: I use both Knot Today & Curling Custard on my daughters' hair when their hair is left out (i.e. not in bobbles/scrunchies/plaits). You can buy it from Amazon or that British Curlies website, among others. But, don't be put off by the price; the products do really go a long way and, if like me, you don't leave her hair out that much anyway, you'll probably only get through 1 bottle/jar per year. DD1 has much thicker hair than dd2 so my method of applying the products to her hair is different for each one. Just check out YouTube & you'll find lots of advice.

Sammy, that's really helpful. What curl do they have? I think mine are botticelli and corkscrew, is your dd1 corkscrew too?

Sorry, haven't been on Mumsnet for a while. I hope you're still watching this. I think dd1 has more fractal/zig zag hair according the the British Curlies website. I think dd2 has corkicelli hair type.

Since my hair is different to my daughters' hair (I'm black & have afro hair - worn in locks for the past 10 years), my niece has been great for advice on hair products. She's mixed race & has hair that's between my 2 dd's. She's actually started a blog now which you can access here. She made 2 new curly friends at uni & they'll hopefully update that blog when they've got time (I'll remind her). Even though she sometimes uses hair straighteners on the odd day for a different look, her hair is really healthy so she's doing something right.

FYI my niece has changed her blog site to www.beautysecrets2.com. It's much better than the old one & includes videos, healthy hair loves, healthy hair hates & her hair journey (which is very interesting for parents of children with afro/mixed race hair). She's planning to add more product reviews, videos, etc. so it might be worth keeping an eye on it or subscribing to the blog.

I'm using the shampoo, Knot Today and the Curling Custard on my DDs who have fractal and corkscrew hair. Great stuff.
