Would it better for DH to claim child benefits

I'm the main breadwinner and if either of us become a SAHP it will have to be DH (this is quite likely if we have a 2nd child as he doesn't earn enough to be worth working and paying for childcare)

In terms of financial security I am in a much better position and if we ever divorced (very unlikely I like to think ) I would still be in a better position.

If I've understood the whole qualitfying years for the state pension issue it would potentially be better for DH to claim the child benefits rather than me.

Anyone more knowledgeable (and not suffering from pregnancy brain!) able to confirm that this is right?

TIA

yes he should if he becomes a SAHD, to protect his entitlement to state pension
