Home improvement grants & Child Tax Credit

We have had a quote for getting cavity wall insulation done which we think is quite reasonable. We haven't asked them to come and do it yet, only because we've been disorganised and not got round to it.

Last night, a man knocked at the door and asked if we were interested in cavity wall insulation. We said yes and he said if we were claiming Child Tax Credits we would only pay £99 and that this had only come in in the last 2 months.

This sounds wrong to me and I can't find anything on the internet to support what he says.

He is talking total rubbish isn't he? We were dealing with the children at the time so he's coming back tonight to discuss it further. It sounds too good to be true so it no doubt is. Does anyone know what he's talking about?

Was it on this site because I got a combi boiler fitted for £430 in January because of benefits and they do wall insulation to www.heeswales.co.uk/
