Anyone know how I can find out what my dad may be entitled to?

My dad is Irish, but was resident in the UK, worked here and paid tax, NI etc for 25 years. He went back to Ireland to live and work 12 years ago. He was recently made redundant and it is unlikely he will find work again (in his 60s and an unskilled labourer - will be entitled to a pension in three years time...Irish building market tits up etc).

I am now trying to find out if all his years of work / tax paying over here mean he is entitled to any money, even though he is working and claiming unemployment benefit in Ireland?

Any advice as to how we could go about finding this out would be great. TIA.

www.entitledto.co.uk might help.

The website above is a great starting point for UK residents. Alternatively, you could try your local Citizens' Advice Bureau for something more specific since he has the added complication of living outside the UK.
