Hello, can someone please help!!

I moved into my house Feb 2010 I rang Thames Water to let them know, they sent me a bill saying i moved in Feb 2009.
I rang and told them it was wrong, they said that they could not just change it. I would need to wait for them to decide if I should pay it!!

I didn;t live there then I have my tenancy to prove it, but what can i do if they send me a final demand??

Someone please help , I don't know where I stand!!

Send them a copy of your tenancy agreement showing the date you moved in.

If you can prove it I'd say you'd be OK. Was the property empty? Tell your landlord.

No the property was occupied until a few days before. ButI think if they are charging me that maybe the tenants there before me had never paid there water??

I had my bill for this year at end of March, and t said to keep paying my old bill and i have heard nothing since i think i will ring them again and ask what has been done, then send them a copy of my tenancy and a letter from my landlord.

I am definately not paying it. It's not my bill
