DH going part time but wants to keep CSA payments the same

Hi

DH is cutting his hours for our childcare reasons. We wish to continue paying CSA to his ex at the same amount (it is our personal childcare decision so don't believe his ex/DCs should suffer financially for that).

I understand the CSA will need his new lower salary details. Can he give the new details but ask to keep payments the same? Is it best that way so it is all official? Or is it best to reduce the monthly payments down in line with his new salary, but top up with cash each month?

I was thinking maybe it s best to reduce down in line with CSA amount and maybe top up with the rest in a cash lump sum twice a year, so she'd have a bit of spending power if she so wishes (e.g. just before summer hols and just before xmas).

By the way, not possible for him to ask what she'd like as she prefers not to speak to DH. Not appropriate to talk money through the children though.....

I think CSA would reduce down payments from yr hub but top them up themselves - perhaps though she would have to make a claim

can your dh talk to his ex about what she would like him to do?
