She is 12

She wanted 2 accounts where she can move remotely (by phone or internet) & use her card at the Post Office.

So we went to Natwest & they 'sold' us an adapt account

Which cannot be accessed on-line or by telephone & guess what she cannot withdraw money at the Post Office

I feel so let down for her

Complain to the bank manager.
Explain what it was what you wanted and ask them to change it for her.

DD (12) has an account from Lloyd's which has a debit card so she can withdraw money from anywhere. I am not sure that she has online access though.

We live in the middle of the countryside she can walk to the PO but everything else is about 15 miles away

I am so cross & we have to waste a Saturday going to the bank to close it

try smile

i have banked with them for the past 12 years or so and they've always been great
they're part of the co-operative, so you can do everything at the PO. pay cheques in etc etc, and use your card there.

but they're set up online, so you do most of your banking on the net

Smile don't seem to have a children's account.....have I missed it?

d'oh sorry i didn't even think about it needing to be a kids one.

hmmmm

notcitrus · 06/02/2010 23:14

You shouldn't need a special kids account, an ordinary one is often better especially fi you might get any interest.

Phone Smile or FirstDirect and ask them.

Name changed but it's still me

She has opened a PO account that she can get cash out of & she is keeping her Natwest one to use the debit card

Mousey84 · 07/02/2010 22:13

Make sure you get R85 form signed so no tax deducted

AntirrhinumMajus · 07/02/2010 23:51

Thanks for the reminder - it is sorted for one account but needs to be filled in for the other
