Having been an existing car insurance customer with zurich for many years (their Car solutions policy is gold star rated for its level of cover), I decided to switch our second car to them also as I had discovered that some companies don't cover car seats now. Was told they no longer sell the Car solutions policy for new policies but they now have a Connect policy which as their telephpne sales person told me gives the same level of cover, I ploughed ahead answering all the questions. After being very pleased with the price, I decided to just check that car seats would be covered and was amazed to be told they weren't.
After a rather heated and lenghthy conversation with the sales person and her manager during which I discovered that I could still buy the old solutions policy if I went through a broker, but not if i went direct to zurich; I told them they need to be making it clear to customers that car seat aren't covered. They told me after lots of market research they'd chnaged the levels of cover on the policy to make the product more competitive and in line with what customers want.
As a mum and probably representative of a large proportion of the car insurance buying public - I want my car insurance to cover my car seats on a like for like basis and for them to be replaced after any accident.
Basically the point of this thread is to make all mums aware that not all car insurance covers your car seats........and my car is now insured with Direct Line who do cover them www.defaqto.com/products/insurance/motor doesn't give quotes but does show and compare levels of cover on policies
