How can I stop my bank account transfer?

Started to transfer current accounts from halifax to nationwide beginning of December. The direct debits are supposed to be changed this month, however i am pregnant and been in and out of hospital so havent got round to changing the standing orders or getting our wages paid into new bank account yet.

We have just found out that dh might be getting made redundant in March so would like to stay with original bank, as we have been with these for years and have an overdraft facility of £3000 (if needed). Therefore i want to cancel the transfer to nationwide as these only gave overdraft of £500, which is fine at the moment but if dh gets made redundant would rather have the back up as we have now.

How can i cancel the transfer?

Would ring the bank. Tell them the above. they may match the overdraft.

As dietcoke says, ring the new bank (assuming you would like to go to them if they'll match the overdraft) and see if they will match old bank. If not, get on the phone sharpish to old bank and tell them you want to stay. They can sort most things out if you whinge enough!
