HELP!! Booking holiday online with Thomas Cook - will they refund?

I have just booked a holiday online with Thomas Cook and paid a deposit for 2 adults and 2 children - no free child places. But on the confirmation details it states that the accommodation is a twin room for up to 3 people. Yikes! There are 4 of us! I can't get through to them on the phone as they are shut and have emailed them but no reply yet. What can I do???? Will I lose my deposit?

Is there a FAQ section online cornsilk which might answer your question?

I really don't understand how it has let you do it tbh.

Me either. I searched for 2 adults and 2 children, that came up, booked it (paying for 4 people) and inputted details and then confirmation says up to 3 people in accommodation. The FAQ section isn't much help to be honest. I will be fretting all night now until I can phone them tomorrow.

I would be fretting to cornsilk

Am wondering whether if they don't have rooms big enough for 4...

a) they might suggest inter connecting rooms and you have to pay more for the additional room so you can accommodate 4 or

b) change accommodation completely (with fingers crossed that they don't charge you to do this seen as it was a malfunction on their system letting you book)

Good luck.

Children don't usually count towards occupancy, so a room for three adults max would be fine for two adults/two kids. On your confirmation email does it have the details as requested?
If they let you book it it'll be fine. Are you going somewhere nice?

flossie64 · 10/01/2010 14:27

Ring them tomorrow when their customer service dept re opens. I booked with them before and some how the system did it twice!!
They were very helpful and it was all sorted within 24hrs.

It's to Menorca. So you think it's okay then? Confirmation email has details for all 4 of us as booking and says room for 3 people max.

Rooms can sleep 2 adults and 2 children although one bed is likely to be a 'foldaway'/trundle type bed.

cornsilkscatholichamster · 10/01/2010 14:55

that will be okay as it would mean more space in the day I should imagine. Wish there was someone I could speak to about it. Why aren't they working! It's the busiest time of the year!
