Stupid sister who is in all sorts of money trouble has give my dads number to someone online and now he gets 4 calls a days asking for her or her ex husband about clearing thier debts

i asked why they have his number but got some story about her asking for an ins quote and giving his no which just does not make sense as although she has no land line she as always had a mobile

Dad is going mad. I just called for a chat and he picked up the phone blazing as he thought it was another call. They have called all day

Is there anything he can do (apart fron kill my sister which i fear is coming...)

I assume that you've registered with the telephone preference service (from your last post). This only covers unsolicited marketing calls as your sister has given this number out its possibly not covered.

Has you Dad told them she doesn't live there and has he asked her to remove from their database?

My Dad had the same problem with people chasing for my brother since it's down as a previous address. In the end my Dad just resorted to saying that the last he heard he had gone to Spain, and if they find him could they let him know where he is as he is owed money too. That eventually led to the end of the calls. Just keep it consistent.Otherwise they will hound him until he gives them contact details.

I keep getting this, they are after someone that used to have my number, I told them she is not on this number or at this address and if they called again I would be contacting watchdog and trading standards.....the calls have stopped
