Best place to put child trust fund?

This has probably been done many times before on here, but im confused where to invest my childs trust fund to get the best interest for her, any suggestions?

I have invested ds1 with a savings account instead of the stocks and shares or steakholder. Purely for the fact that in either of the last two you could loose money in the long run yet with the savings account you are guarenteed to get back what you put in plus intrest. I only chose savings because i put money in too and dont want ds to loose what i have saved for him along with ctf vouchers. I will be doing the same for ds2 also when i actually get around to it
