So, we have the mortgage offer, have the lease to read and it all seems ok (teeny tiny first flat, 2 bed, very nice, know someone who bought in the block a year ago and no problems.)

I guess I'd just like to know if there's anything you really wish you'd asked, or anything I should be aware of that you wish you'd known!

TIA

What are redemption fees like? Is there an extended tie-in period? Are you being forced encouraged to take same company's contents insurance/redundancy insurance/critical illness insurance? If it is interest only, what mechanism have you put in place to pay back the capital? You say "we" - are you married? If not, have you got a legal agreement in place with your co-buyer regarding how you will divide proceeds/debts if you no longer wish to live together?

Yes, we'll be married by the time we complete. Wedding in 3 weeks. Mortgage is in my name only as DH-to-be earns a pittance small wage from Church.

By redemption fees, do you mean paying the mortgage off early fees? (If not, what are they?) Early pay back fees quite manageable (doubt if we'll ever be at that stage... poor.

We're paying back capital. Nope, buildings insurance covered as it is flats, they haven't pushed anything re. contents towards us.
