my ex and i split in june 2006 officially we had been split a month by then but still shared bank account as i couldnt close it on my own and he wouldnt so didnt claim benefits til then as was stuck with no proof of what i ghad etc. anyway from june 2006 til august 2007 i recieved some money through the csa for our son but never the full amounts due, then from august 2007 i have had nothing despite them having attachment from earnings set up, his address, his employers address etc etc, finally they have sent it to their enforcement team with a view to taking him to court over it. they said this take 2-4 weeks til they set a court date however they have been fobbing me off for so long and its all false promises - they have been promising to send it to enforcement for the last 9 months!!! so i dont know what to believe and what happens in practice anyone know??

also at court they can send bailiffs, take driving licence, take his passport and send him to prison anything else if he wont pay the full amount immediately or within whatever the set period is?? he has no driving license, no passport and lives with his parents so they can probably say everything in house is theirs so im guessing bailiffs would never get full amount as he owes well over 2000 as far as i know though maybe more as not got exact figures yet - they are supposed to be sending them to me so if he went to prison, does he still owe the debt or is that seen as paying the debt?? and when might i see some benefit fro this all other than nasty phonecalls because im "trying to take his money" lol??? he doesnt see his son through his choice and through the fact that due to him abusing him it would have to be supervised and he refuses to do that so can he argue this, or in fact has he got any arguements to not pay?? he is on birth certificate and i know he is 100% the dad as i wasnt with anyone else, but even if he decides to ask for dna surely he has already paid some and is on birth certificate so that means he accepts child as his?? dna would come back on him anyway so they surely would still continue with same route etc just take longer??? anyone any experience of all this stuff???

incidently i might add, im not taking him for a fortune, he got told some of the time he only had to pay £5 a week for ben, other times max its ever been is £30 so not like its beyond his means he lives with his parents and works so no great costs as he doesnt even drive!!! he keeps quitting jobs once csa catch onto him!! will this change the way they deal with it at all or go in my favour??

Good luck to you.

DD had 1 yr of csa payments out of 14 yrs(they did deduct that from his straight from his pay)-Had all the talk of enforcement bullshit from CSA when he didn't pay for 9 mths last year. They have now (yet again) shut my case as ex is no longer working (bollocks!)-he is obviously working cash in hand.I always had to chase them up,all those calls out of my pocket. They are a waste of time.

1 year of payments out of 14yrs!
I have NO faith in the CSA,sorry.

My case has been with the enforcement team for the last few years. My experience is that they are useless as the rest of the CSA.

He has been to court on numerous occasions and only a month ago failed to turn up to yet another hearing. He now has a warrant out for his arrest

The baliffs have been out various times, with no joy !

I fully believe we will never see a penny for my son before he reaches 18 and the case has been open for almost nine years.

oh no so if he doesnt go to court they cant do anything, he is a proper stick your head in the sand type so looking like will be a long process! thanks so much, now i know not to hold out any hope!

They claim they have 'powers' I am yet to see any in action!

It may be different in your case, you never know!

Also regarding paternity, my ex has assumed paternity . That is, he has never denied or agreed he is my sons father and as such the case continues as if he is (he is!) . I have been told that as he failed to dispute paternity at the beginning, he would now be liable for DNA testing cost himself.

Good luck, I hope you get further than I ever have and as you say, don't hold much hope and any money you do get is then a bonus!

i have been chasing my sons father for maintence since august 1999, and he owes over 15,000 and should be alot more, The csa think it is ok to remove 9,000 odd in 2007 and i only found out that a couple of weeks ago,i have demaned it be put back and still waiting a responce, i am discusted i have chased them twice a month for the last ten years and not got a penny, he even lied and got me in det for 900 which i appealed and won but why do they do nothing i am so angry, so i am going to my local mp and will not stop till something happens, what else can i do ?
