Income support when on unpaid part of maternity leave -

Please could someone read this from the IS form -
Can I get Income Support if I have a full-time job? If you take unpaid parental leave, or paternity leave (paid or unpaid), you may be able to get Income Support. You must satisfy all other conditions for getting Income Support, and be entitled to one of the following benefits: ? Working Tax Credit ? Housing Benefit ? Council Tax Benefit, or ? Child Tax Credit (at a higher rate than the family element). If you?re not entitled to one of the benefits listed above and you take unpaid parental leave, you may still be able get Income Support. To find out more, contact Jobcentre Plus.

And let me know whether you think that means that I could claim IS for the final 3 months of maternity leave? DH is sort of working (hardly any hours available) at the moment but we do get tax credits and housing benefit. If DH works under 16 hours or not at all, do you think we could be entitled to claim?

I don't want to go back to work early, before anyone suggests it and thanks for helping!

i was a single mum when on unpaid part of my maternity leave and i was classed as same as if i was not working at all so it will still go on what your partner earns but if he earns little you may be entitled to soemthing

Thanks a lot that's what I thought. If he isn't working or is only working a little bit we should get some then. That will help!
