Barclaycard are classing my payment by DD as a pending transaction for about 7 days.

And this has been happening every month for the last 6 months.

I pay my credit card in full every month, and I'm down to my last £50, we get paid next week and I have a couple of direct debits coming out too.

So my last payment for £600 is in limbo and I can't get hold of it. (I have a cashback card and usually do my food shopping on it)

Gawd, this money situation is really getting me down. I went to get some shopping and 3 of my cards were declined.

I phoned them today (like I did last month) and asked them about the pending transaction and he assured me it would be taken off overnight.

I shouldn't have to be chasing them. Anyway, moan over, I feel better now.

Sadie I had this problem with Barclaycard. Hate to tell you, don't listen to the guy who tells you it will be lifted by tomorrow. I was given apologies for this having happened (they held my payment, which was in full, as usual, and by direct debit, for seven days) and told it would be sorted by next day. When it wasn't, and I rang back, they said it was normal practice for when its a large amount (was not really) and tough luck. Took another day or so after that. Never got to bottom of it, but really annoying so you have my sympathy.

I just phoned them again and asked them to change my payment date so it would (hopefully) help.
