Apparently I have ordered a contract phone with some obscure website. I thought I had gone through Mothercare's own website but ended up being asked to enter a load of competitions that have nothing to do with them. I had already entered my address and phone number when a list of competitions appeared one after the other for me to enter. Instead of pressing "pass" I pressed "enter" and on going back and looking closely it says that I accept to receive an order of an expensive Nokia phone and contract. Should I ignore- they cant possibly give me a mobile phone without credit checking me and checking ID etc can they?

It is distance selling so you have a cooling off period in which you can cancel.

Just print everything out so you have a record in case they are funny.

if you didn't give them any payment details, credit card or bank details then you will be fine. if they phone you just tell themit was a mistake.

(btw, you'll prob get loads of calls telling you you've won timeshares, holidays and photoshoots - just beware, its not a prize if you have to pay anything towards it!)

I have emailed the people doing the promotion and told them I am not interested. Should have been more careful but just assumed it was all done through Mothercare.
