Strength of the pound - any predictions about devaluation?

I have a small windfall that's been paid to me in US dollars and I wonder if I should hold on to US$ (presuming that the pound will continue its decline) or convert to pounds in the belief that the pound will strengthen against the dollar. Does anyone have any prediction of where things are heading?

Who knows?! Lots of hedge funds get this wrong, it's a pretty difficult call to make! I guess you need to ask yourself whether you can afford to lose some of the money if the £ rises against the $ - is the potential gain worth the risk? If it isn't then convert it now and just be pleased that you're going to get more than if you converted this time last year.
