oh bugger have forgotten to sort out tax disc. Can I still buy it online or do I have to buy it at PO now?

yeah you have to do it earlier than that, cant remember how far in advance, I think youre alright with about a week usually. Annoying isnt it, i did this last time, and the time before......lol

I'm sure my renewal notice this month had a note t say I would get 5 days grace if I bought it online before the end of the month and it didn't arrive in time.

I have forgotten before and ordered it on the first day of the next month . It's arrived a few days later

Ohhhh, maybe i am wrong, thinking about it, I think i tried to order it past the date it was due and it wouldnt let me online, but not sure now and doubting myself.....I do not know the answer lol

I did mine on 10th of this month for a disc that expired at the end of feb (and so did i)

I know I had a notice through some time ago....

DH just been out and looked at my tax disc and came back in saying "oh well, you're only three weeks overdue...." Bastard was winding me up. It's end this month.

look, this is the DVLA. they care not how or when they get your their money, just that they can rip you off - sorry should i say you pay them - as soon as possible

Mine ran out at the end of last month and I forgot all about it until about 10th of this month. I was able to do it on-line. It says allow 5 days for it to arrive - I think mine arrived quicker than that.

I would rather do it on-line and have handed the money over than waited until I could get to a post office that actually sell tax discs, which are few and far between round here. If you have handed the money over they can't do much, can they? (can they?)

Well this is what I think Niecie. I am just so busy at work this week, that there is no way I am going to have time to go to the only PO in the vicinity. I meant to do it last week, but was so busy that it went out of my head...

My husband does ours on-line and are always amazed how quickly we get it. I think it arrived within two days so do it now and you may get it by Wednesday.

Yes mine arrived in 2 days too, and you get an email with order number to prove you have done it.
End of month is hell in PO.

I did the same thing and got it through in 2 days, so you should be fine.

the only downside of this is that it is still an offence not to display a correct tax disc. So you could be unlucky and get done for that. However, once you have paid, it will not come up on ANPR,which is how most people are caught.

agree, usually comes through within 2 days, as I have done one close to the wire before. personally wouldn't drive a car without the correct tax disc, but i am risk averse!!!

I got a letter last week saying that if you buy it online you have 5 days' grace and can still drive until it arrives.
