Hi

I care for my son who gets mid rate disabilty.. I was working 16 hours a week up till end of jan where I decided to set up my own business from home, I informed the the CA of this and was told that I would recieve the CA for the first three months of self employment whilst setting the business up, this week I did not recieve my payment so I contacted them today. They say my claim has been suspended until they recieve forms back off me for my earnings in the past 3 months, I just dont get it, I have been in preparation of my business for all this time and not earned a penny, yet they have suspended my claim without warning before the 3 months are up...any advice would help

thanks

They just want to know that you are not exceeding the income limit. The form isn't hard to fill in, I have to do it every 3 months. I'm guessing you've kept accounts for everything you've had outgoing (and incoming if anything)? Simply fill it in and send it off. I've found CA very helpful if you phone them up, quite accommodating in fact when I've had letters go missing so have been late with my forms.
