Debt hassle - how long have I got to sort this?

Missed a couple of payments on an unsecured loan, the legal team now want the arrears in full - how long have I realistically got to pay them before I get taken to court?

DD got into a mess like this. We wrote a letter offering £10 a month. They accepted. They cannot take you to court if you have made them an offer - any offer. DD is still paying them £10 a month 2 years down the line. Occasionally they write saying 'as you have made the payments regularly, we will be upping it to £20 a month' We just write back and say 'circumstances have not changed and we will continue to pay £10 as before'. They have no choice but to accept.

definitly communicate with them... and as themoon says, make an offer to pay something. they would rather that than the hassle of taking you to court etc and then you would prob only be ordered to pay back a small sum anyway.
