Help, Please! What is the status of different controlled parking signs?

Last week I was rushng to a meeting in which I give my time to a partnership with the local council. At 6pm I tunrned into a side road opposite the Town Hall and saw that the notice which marks the beginning of the Controlled Parking Zone said that controlled parking was from 8am t 5.30 pm. I parked in the first space in the road - right under the sign.

Got a ticket..for being parked there at 6.28. I was all ready to pay it, thinking I must have mixed up the times in my head, but then in driving past again saw that it IS clearly marked as 5.30. I went back today to take a photo of the sign and the bay I parked in. Now, on the smaller sign further along the road where it gives the parking times, it DOES say 8.30 to 6.30.

Does the notice demaking the begining of the zone carry any weight? Should I have looked at the otehr signs too?

Sounds like you have good grounds for appeal

Blu · 01/03/2009 17:22

Yes, I will appeal...it's £60 at the reduced rate and £120 after that, Grrrrrrr! More than Westminster or the Covent garden parts of Camden!! This is in an ordinary, residential side street!

Any more views?
(I know it's boring! But £60, waaaah!)

I'd definately appeal and would imagine you'd have good grounds of appealing if you were in the bay with the sign right next to it

I wouldn't have bothered looking at any other signs either! You'd assume they all had the same times on them, how odd!

website might be useful

Blu · 02/03/2009 12:18

oh, yes, thank you!
That website is useful - especially as I a ALSO fighting Camden over a ticket I got for parking in a pay and disply without a payment voucher - when I was actually in a clealry marked disabled bay with my Blue Badge clearly displayed!!!
