Hi, my exp has not paid maint though has started to pay half childcare for dd. I have to work to be able to pay the bills etc and so though him paying half was reasonable, it's nearly 500 a month so half that.

He already pays his ex wife for their kids (all grown up apart from nearly 15 year old) but he still pays her the same amount as he wants to contribute.

I have no idea without going to see a solicitor what is reasonable? Dd is 2 and I do get a small amount of tax credits. Whilst obs I don't think it is too much maybe I am way off the mark, before I go to a solicitor which I would rather try to keep it amongst ourselves really any advice??

It is usually 15% for one child but decreases if there are other children to support.

Ooh thanks. I know roughly how much he earns but also has income from rental properties (self employed so this will be his pension). I think I am being more than reasonable with that amount then.

I don't have anything left over at the end of the month but luckily I have always saved before having dd so I use that to fall back on when need more pennies.

Thank you.

It's 15% for one 20% for two and 25% for three or more. If two are by different mothers they each get 10%.
