if you are in band b?
I'm in band b, but come march 12th I will be officially homeless. Will I go into temporary accommodation? It's all new to me and I'm a bit freaked out.

TIA

It depends which area you are in and the demand for housing in that area.

A friend who works for the CAB basically said that if im not in band A I can forget it!

Well, they do let property to people in lower bands but in all honesty, yes you need to be in the top band to be moved any time soon.

You should be placed in band A once homeless but obviously, that doesn't help you now.

We got our house last week and were in band B, we had been a band B since september last year. There is not a lot of housing demand in our area though (roughly about 30 bids per house).

Think it really depends what area you are in how many houses come up and how many people bid on houses.

Is there anyway of you finding out how far up the list you have come on previous houses.

Do you have a bidding scheme in your area?

My friend was homeless, band b and in a hostel with 2 DC. 3 months and she's just been given a lovely 3 bed flat!!

Really? the demand is high. I placed a bid ona house and there were 96 others. I suppose if I go into temporary accommodation I'll be there for a while even in the top band.

We got this house just before xmas and we were band c, there were only 10 bids though, probably because it was the week before xmas. Had been on the transfer list for a year, but only got a sniff when they brought the bidding system in. We made one bid prior to that, there was 50 bids on that one and we came in the top 5, so there is hope especially as your are band b.
