I've heard of mortgage repayment holidays but was wondering if it was possible to take a personal loan repayment holiday? i've been paying on time every time for 18 months now but a bit worried about when I start maternity leave i obviously won't be getting the same income, does anyone know if i ask the bank they would agree to it? it would only be for say 3 months until I could go back to part-time work.

You need to talk to the bank. Taking a repayment holiday will end up costing you more, obviously, but if it's necessary ... they might go for it.

I took a repayent holiday from my Egg loan when I was on mat leave, but i knew i could do that before i took it out.

Who is your loan with, can you look on the bank's website to see if it mentions payment holidays?
