Has anyone negotiated a mortgage holiday recently?

And how did you go about it? We are currently on fixed rate deal due to run out in September.

Yes but only short term, as dh lost his job. I contacted the person at our bank who arranged our mortgage for us, she verbally agreed the payment holiday over the phone then sent out a form for us to fill in. We got written confirmation back. Any help?

Who is your mortgage with?

We had a payment holiday while I was on mat leave, but we deliberately picked a mortgage that offered payment holidays.

You may find that your mortgage provider offers them.

We are with Halifax and have just arranged one as we are a bit completely broke at the moment. It will add about £20 a month to our payments and of course more to the final amount, but we just need a couple of months breathing space to try and sort ourselves out.
