just a quick one for solicitors...are you bound by your Code to send a customer care letter?

or is it just what firms tend to do without actually being bound....?

I've tried to check this out on the law soc site ...it seems to me it's only a recommendation. Would appreciate clarification.

Yes, have to send out a client care/terms of contract type letter out outline charges, etc. Not just a recommendation - you have to do it.

thanks singingb, yep it seems to contain practically all the info a client would need regarding his/her arrangements with the law firm.

Not me who is the solicitor. Dh is a partner in a solicitor's firm.

No, client doesn;t have to sign. Just has to be sent.
