becuase it is over £150 more expensive (for the gas) than this time last year. Now bearing i mind too, how we all tried not to put our heating on, and i didn't till November 1st. so thats a whole MONTH i didn't put it on for compared to last year.

fucking bastards. i get no help from ex dh, am on bens, am just sick of it.

i'm dreading it.
(dragonbutter btw)

piratecat · 28/01/2009 12:51

scottish power.
we've been fixed since 2006 until 2010.
it's going to be bad isn't it?

Dropdeadfred · 28/01/2009 12:53

we have just moved from scottish power to npower today

piratecat · 28/01/2009 13:05

db that was a good move, having it fixed , in light of how bad it's got.

I found npower to be cheapest when i looked 3 yrs back, and tbh still are for my area.

Oh dear piratecat. Does your bill show you the comparative number of units used versus the same time last year?

piratecat · 28/01/2009 13:07

i have both bills, i keep all my bills! Yes, am afraid it's comparable.

Sorry to hear this. Hopefully you'll get something sorted out.

LadyMuck · 28/01/2009 13:14

So even though you didn't have your heating on a full month you've used the same number of units? That is odd? I'm assuming that the bill is not estimated?

piratecat · 28/01/2009 13:35

well they aren't an exact to the uniot comparison, and i guess the difference in how long i had it on is minus 3 weeks, rather than a full month. Yet i remember that at the time Npower back in 2007/2008 were later than some to put up the prices, then we had a huge hike at the end of the summer.

i think we are looking at about 120 quid more overall.

anyone else?

Ditto Piratecat.
Last year my energy bill was a good £130 cheaper. I am not wasteful with power, have a combi boiler for gas and heating and we had new radiators 18 months ago.
I signed up with British gas now as they are cheaper, the price of fuel through them is going down in february and this time next year I will get a £50 credit on my bill.

SpookyMadMummy · 29/01/2009 19:11

Oh and the high bills are NPower too.
