Does anyone know the answer to this?? My friend has started her own business and currently gets help with housing for her rent (private sector) and council tax. She wants to move but to another county. Can she claim HB and CT straight away from the new county council??

i think so - just phone the council that is responsible for billing etc where she is moving to.

If she has a good reason for the move, ie to expand her business, be nearer (close) family or something like that.

Some areas don't care much, some are rally tight about it. I agree the best approach is to call the local authority for the new area.
