apparently their is oil under my house

I have just read in the paper, that right by my house (im talking 50 METERS) they have found a load of oil, and its likely to be directly under my house too

Not sure if this is good or bad.

If they confirm its there does it mean anything?

will they compulsory purchase my house? (i wouldnt mind)

or mine it from under me? not sure how id feel about that!

Most people in south yorkshire have coal under and around their houses.

Here in Lincolnshire there is loads of oil. We have a nodding donkey style well down the lane. They don't need to be on the site of your house to get at it.

rename your house Southfork Ranch and buy a stetson
