I need £5000 to keep going.

Need it today, or within the next week at very best.

Bank won't give me a loan cos I am not earning at the moment.

Can't sell anything I can think of worth that much money.

Anyone got any reasonable suggestions.

Feels like I'm staring into an abyss

The question was "how can I raise £5000 ?". There is a wealth of advice from what should have been done, could have been done and might still be done to some unhelpful chastisement for having the problem in the first place but no one including myself has any suggestion on how to rasie £5000 in these circumstances. 101 posts and not one suggestion. If anyone knows how to raise £5000 quick time please post here as I also woudl like to know

Did you manage to speak to the car company to see if they would allow you to continue making payments rather than a lump sum? I've been where you are , owed a couple of thousand on store cards etc and the bank wouldn't touch me with a barge pole. It was only through my sister giving me an interest free loan that I was able to clear things.

Are you working at the moment as you said you need a car for work but said in your op you aren't earning at the moment?

THIS IS FROM 2008

Wow blue , never noticed. It was on the first page so I assumed it was recent. Really must check the date of the op

Have you anyone that could put it on a credit card for you and then try and switch to zero interest one while you pay it back ?

Baby

This is a seriously old thread, resurrected, I guess, by a spammer. Wink

I do beg to differ about needing a car!! Some people really do!! My mothers carers would not be able to take care of her or anyone else if they didn’t have a car to get to them, especially at breakfast time with medications to be given at the correct times.
We all make mistakes, yes you should have read the agreement properly but it’s too late for that now, have you looked into some unsecured and bad credit loan companies? Some of them are scary with over a thousand per cent APR but there are some which are 49 per cent APR still high but if you are managing your money then may be worth a look

Well it was 12 years ago so I guess it's sorted ...

😂😂😂

Have you checked legibility for Money transfer credit card (for those with poor credit) it puts the money in your account and you pay the balance on their terms

Or whatever bad thing that the OP feared happening if she didn't get her £5k has happened by now.
