My dear dad passed away 8 weeks ago. We have to sell his car, it seems to have been left up to me.
How can I find out how much is is worth?

Also I want to sell to someone/a garage in a nearby town, as I would rather not see it being driven around this town. But it's car tax has run out and to drive it I will need to get it taxed, yes? So I need to get it put on my insurance? And do I have to wait for the insurance people to send me the documents before I can buy car tax? Last thing I want is to be in trouble for not having it taxed. Just been MOTed so that is okay.
If anyone cah help thank you.

parkers.co.uk will tell you what it is worth.

Good luck.

Get the garages to come out to you, that way you can avoid anything. They will be able to drive it under their own insurance if you agree to sell it to them.

Get hold of Autoguide or Autocar magazine and have a look through there as you should find in the very back (or somewhere) a guide to used car prices and that should give you a rough idea of what to expect.

Be prepared though, garages have to make a profit so they will offer you a bit less because they have to make some sort of reasonable profit when they sell it on.

That's okay, we are not too bothered about making money on it, just want a fair price and enough to cover our recent costs on it.
I'll make some phone calls tomorrow. Had a look at Parkers, that is big help, thanks.
