Hi

Can anyone reccomend a private detective in the South East / East Anglia area???

I need to look into my ex's history. We had a lovely dd and erm well its a long long story but he left before dd was born but wanted minimal contact with her, he just liked coming round and upseting me more then seeing dd. Later on he took me to the solicitors to scare the hell out of me (hes a mind games guy) and his 1st name on the solicitors letter is different to the name i know him by!! There are lots of other things that dont add up and things that have been said since the birth that dont add up. But didnt think that much of it but now with this name difference all these other thing seem more important now.

He has changed sooo much since he left im just sooo scared as its nearly time that dd will be having 'unsupervised contact outside of the family home' with him

There are more details that are 'red lights' but i dont want to say them on here, he might read this or his mum or close friend etc etc

But if anyone can reccomend anyone then please contact me on here or via CAT

I am a single mum and on beneifts atm, but this is something where i will find some money some how to pay them

Hope to hear from someone soon

I know one Mumsnetter has used (and been happy with) Salgaldo Investigations in Croydon.

Private Eye used to have PIs advertising in the back; they probably still do.

If short of cash, I would get started with some basic searches.
www.TheUkElectoralRoll.co.uk is a website where you can do searches of the voters register. For £6.25 you can do unlimited searches.
The website 192.com can also do searches for free but is probably more limited.
www.ukbmd.org.uk is the website for UK birth deaths and marriages. Im not sure if it costs but should only be a nominal charge if there is one.
I believe that if you have the registration of his car you can contact the DVLA and request the registered keepers details. They may only release them if you have a reason eg "the car is constantly blocking me in." or "it looks like it is abandoned". Otherwise they may not give the details "due to data protection"...
After you have all his details you can then do some trawling of the net as its amazing how much people put on social networking sites.
Hope this helps
