Is there a place or number to ring or something, where if you give all names, DOB etc, you can get their NI number?

Thanks

I think this is private information.

nervousal · 22/08/2008 11:58

Why would you want someone elses NI number?

scorpio1 · 22/08/2008 11:59

It's to do with my nan who died, and her will.

DSS should have it for pension purposes, tax office for theirs...

Well I can almost guarantee they won't give you it.

Yes, I got my grandad's from the DSS when he died and I needed it for a miner's claim.

You need to be the next of kin and send the death certificate to the DSS. Can't remember where - it was a long time ago. It was all quite straightforward.

start here with the general enquiries line, if they can't help they will be about to tell you who can

You can't even get a copy of your own NI number without turning up to an office, in person, with ID.

(I lost mine once before I started work)
