specifically the part where you get some of your child care paid for? What are the thresholds and how many hours a week do i have to work ( i think its 16). I am married so I know my hubbys income will be included. Also are the rules different if I go freelance and work from home?

It is 16 hours. I think the combined income above which you get nothing is about £58K.

Best just register and give them all your details and they'll just work out what (if anything) you're entitled to.

This year we had four separate letters telling us we won't get anything

Good luck!

I don't think there is anyone alive that can explain the tax credits system

You have to work 16 hrs a week or more, and it is means tested as to whether you get any help with childcare.

You can work out here whether you might qualify and how much you might get.

Think how much the postege must cost! Why don't they just e-mail it?
