Well, obviously food has to be bought though even there I have found that there are hings you can do without.

I'd got into the habit of thinking what would I like to eat today and if I didn't have the ingredients I'd buy them. Now I do one weekly online shop and stay out of supermarkets and cook with what is there. It's been the easiest way to save money imaginable and the meals have been fine.
