Online admin for small organisations. There's a market.

What are your skills/experience/previous jobs roles in?
A friend does part time proof reading from home and another sells tiny, crochet animals- amigurami.
This site has been mentioned before, but I've never used them.

You need to think about what you're good at and what is practical. Eg a lot of things will be difficult to concentrate on at the same time as looking after very young children.

Also some things don't pay a lot and need investment, and likely a time period before you make any money.

Unless your children's father is completely off the scene can you work when he is looking after them?

Also have you reviewed your income and expenditure? People who have never done this before often find things like extra benefits they're entitled to, deals on utilities that they're missing out on, subscriptions they're not using or paying full price for when discounts are available and that they're overspending on groceries or other day to day items. A few tweaks here and there can sometimes free up quite a bit of extra money each month. Also if you've never switched your bank account, do this as often as possible over the next few months and you can make £500+.

Most employers will have policies against you wfh with young children around and no childcare, so you are probably going to be looking at self employment options, eg:

  • buying & selling on vinted (hard to makr much doing this now)
  • making craft stuff to sell (sewing/knitting/crochet, soaps, candles etc)

Do you have anything you can hone skills in? So hard to get wfh jobs now, I’ve been on the lookout for three years and they’re mostly managerial or some sort of sales/ tech report that require you to be ‘on’ non stop so zero flexibility which is fair enough but for a lot of people takes away from what they want wfh for and definitely means you couldn’t look after children. Can you not look for something local and figure out childcare?
