Are weekly Child Benefit payments switched to monthly in arrears?

Does anyone know if child benefits are paid in arrears? I receive mine weekly but want to go to monthly, but am unsure as to wether I would have the full amount paid in on the next payment or wait a month for the payment, I have called HMRC but they also didn’t know

It's usually 4 weekly so one month a year you get 2 payments.

Most people get it paid every four weeks. Ours was and kids are now in their thirties.

Way back when I first had children I was on universal credit so had the option to receive it weekly instead, no longer need it to be weekly and would prefer it monthly but just need to budget accordingly before I change it back to monthly

Strange they don’t know. It’s paid in arrears whether you receive monthly or weekly payments. Changing from one to the other won’t change that.
