For context, me and my partner who is a full time mechanic currently rent, I had my son about 15 months ago and am due to start university in a few weeks, it’s a 3 year course and when I graduate my son will be 4 years old, we’ve always wanted to buy it’s always been on our plan however life happened and it just couldn’t happen before we had our son so continued renting, the deposit isn’t the issue we’re keen savers, however it’s the affordability my partner has a decent wage but ideally we’d need both our incomes to get accepted for a mortgage, with university and a 15 month old baby working also alongside that just isn’t going to work, I mean if could just would be very hard, my issue is they year I graduate is the year my son will start reception meaning he’d likely have to go to a primary school in the area we are in now, and it was never our plan to stay in this area when we brought a house, it’s not an awful neighbourhood at all just not the place we wanted to buy, and I moved around a lot as a kid and I don’t want him moving multiple schools if I can avoid it. I just don’t know what to do in this situation.

Rent where you want him to go to school then but when you graduate?
