Pre paid cards for a new couple

So, we've been dating a while, it's a faff keeping tabs on who's paid for what, I've recently discovered pre paid cards such as Revolut.

If I opened a Revolut account and got two physical prepaid cards, this would ease our issues - but (this is where I'd appreciate input) if it's a debit card my partner could hypothetically run up debt - is there any way to cap this?

Just wanting to be safe as I've been burnt before.

Thanks

You can't run up debt on prepaid cards, once the money runs out, that's it. Of course, there's nothing to stop them spending shared 'date' money on something else, but they can't spend money if it's not in the account.

However, I would check as to whether it counts as a joint account if you both have a card, as that would be something you want to avoid if you don't already have a joint financial association as credit problems elsewhere will affect your credit history too.
