How long to debit my bank account?

I paid for something over the internet using a debit card (visa delta). I placed the order at the end of October, but the money still hasn't been taken from my account. Does anyone know if they will or can still take the money?

It's normally up to 6 months.

Our local co-op had a problem with their system once and didn't debit for 4 months. We (being students) didn't notice until they took 4 months worth of shopping in one go. ouch.

did you receive the thing btw?

I placed the order on a Thursday and it was delivered on the Saturday.
(Incase you are wondering what it was I ordered, it was a mobile phone).

I've just had a quick read of the terms and conditions on Argos and can't see anything on there. It does state something about once payment it authorised the item will be despatched. If they are going to take the money, then I'd wish they would hurry up!

check with your bank - it's the debit card t&c you need to worry about, not Argos's.

ok, still non the wiser!
I guess I'll just keep checking if they have taken the money. I think I will be really gutted if the do finally take the money. I know they are entitled to take the money as I got the phone but its nice to get something for free!!!

Just happened to come across this thread whilst searching for something else. Argos never did take the money!
