Should I consolidate three old workplace pensions into a SIPP?

I have circa £45k total in three old workplace pensions. Should I consolidate them into a sipp?

My current workplace pension I’m contributing 18% a month into along with employer so that one is growing nicely but just wondering if best to combine my three old pots.

I’m 46 years old if that makes a difference.

You need to take proper advice, no here can or should tell you what to do with pensions

You can transfer them into your current workplace one as well as a third option, all depends on what the fees and returns are.

I helped DH consolidate his into a SIPP after watching the rebel finance school course. I then knew what I was doing so could check the fund sheets, fees etc and also how to pick a SIPP. I would recommend.

Mentioned elsewhere but recommend you look at Rebel Finance School.

Its not a simple yes or no - you need to consider any restrictions on your current pension, fees, what are you currently invested in, where do you plan to move it to…how far are you from retirement age, are they DC or DB pensions…

Just to add to this check the retirement age for each pension. I wanted to transfer mine but they have ages 55 and 60 and a new sipp will be 67 so I'd rather keep those earlier dates.

Is there a checklist anywhere that walks through what you need to ask before deciding whether to consolidate? I've seen things before say you need to check all the benefits but how do I know what to ask?

67 is State Pension age, it doesn’t apply to Sipps.

You may have selected a retirement date when you enrolled - that would have meant that your funds are moved into lower risk investments as you come closer.

The minimum pension age will go up from 55 to 57 in 2028 unless you have a protected retirement age.

I did 5 into a SIPP last summer and so far they have grown 31% - wish I’d done it years ago. I left two DB pensions though as they have benefits attached to them
