Has anyone here invested in the SpaceX IPO?

Just wondering if anyone on here has managed to invest in the SpaceX IPO, or is planning to.

I’ve seen a lot of talk online about potential opportunities, but I’m not sure what’s realistic for ordinary investors in the UK.

Would be really interested to hear what others think.

Nope, it's hugely overvalued and also I will not put a penny in that arsehole's pocket.

That stock will drop like a rock. Its already down 20 bucks

IsEveryUserNameBloodyTaken · 26/07/2026 01:50

It was 4x oversubscribed at first offering.
Where it goes share price from here who knows.

How original.

Talk about opportunities for what? If you want in because you think it will make you money, it won’t. If you love the ideas/ambition etc and are happy to lose money, crack on.

What I came on to say - especially the second point.

No. Had the opportunity but there are absolutely no checks and balances on EM, the prospectus has more pictures than numbers that make any sense and there's a lot of wishful thinking going on.

sourdoghmommy · 27/07/2026 10:15

I can agree to the others. I feel its just completely overvalued. I would not go for that one.

Just to add, some of the pre-IPO investors (banks etc) will have limits on how long they have to hold their shares before selling them. It's usually 6 months. Once that's up, they will start to sell them off and the share price will decrease. Happens with pretty much every IPO - I learned about this when I did my MBA :)

The only way to make money in an IPO is to either be a) a big bank who gets allocated shares before launch at a discount b) a normal investor in an oversubscribed event (like SpaceX) who manages to time selling their shares asap after launch when everyone who didn't get an allocation is piling in for a slice of the pie, inflating the asking price. In the second case, whoever you are selling to is going to lose money, so don't be that person!

If you like the company and believe the hype and pretty pictures, buy in around the six month post-launch mark, when the price dips.
