Have you ever claimed on wedding insurance and if so, would you recommend them?

Posting here as the Wedding forums tend to be for current brides.

It was handy for us as we had a wedding planned for 2020. Covid happened, so we completely changed our plans, and claimed all our deposits through the insurance.

Meant that we weren’t out of pocket at all in the end, but not sure how helpful our circumstances are to you!

It would also be helpful for things like your supplier going bust.

Thanks, who did you insure with?

I didnt need to claim in the end so not much help but I appreciated the peace of mind it gave us. For various reasons we planned a wedding in 4 months and still had a few wedding threatening issues that there was no clue of before the wedding eg 2 of our parents had operations in the 6 weeks around the wedding and more spectacularly my wife about 6 weeks before, crashed the car with her wedding outfit in it. It was fished out by the police, and accompanied her in the ambulance where she was lucky and had minor broken bones but was incredibly lucky.

Im also amazed at how many wedding venues have folded with people's money locally to us recently

Wow that's a lot! Definitely want to get the insurance but just so hard to know which is actually worth it.
