Just thinking about floating an idea to DP as our morgage is crippling us.

I've been looking into this but rent in my area are on the up and would work out more than the morgage

we were looking into it and rent on a flat that's smaller than our house is more than our mortgage.

There is a lovelly cottage just arohnd the corner from us - I was originally thinking of moving ion myself as things were so bac between us - the rent is 350 less than our morgage. The idea of selling up and moving in as a family occured to me as £350 disposable income a month compared to zero now, might sunstantially improve relations...?

It might be worth checking out a few rents to make sure its typical. Sometimes rents are low because the owner is selling or its only available on short lease. Last thing you want, I'd imagine, is to have to move every few months because your contract gets terminated.

£350 a month spare sounds seriously tempting - I get why you're interested!

Yes one of my friends did just this recently. She loves her rented flat and has much more spare cash.

Her property was very unlikely to rise much in value in the next few years.

I know the landlord lives in Eqypt - but someone else has just put a deposit on it, so it's all moot now..
