So what can I expect next month? My work got the amounts on my pay slip wrong due to changing to new payroll system. Work corrected year to date totals one month but forgot to Correct tax
to date until this month. This meant they give me £14000 extra in tax this month. I called HMRC and they assured me the refund was correct. I went through line by line where I saw how the mistake happened and I’ve written to HMRC with the figures. So I’m sure they’ll be after the money back! How does it work now tax year end is Upon us. Will I be paid nothing next month? I’ve never been in this situation before and I’m annoyed with work for sending them incorrect totals on pay slip

what on earth were they doing changing systems now. When I changed payroll systems I did it to coincide with the start of the tax year.

are the correct figures now entered into the system? If so it should auto correct on your March payroll and then be correct before the start of the new tax year.

I don’t know but I have put a complaint in! What will happen? I normally get paid £5500 after tax but this month got paid £24000 so it’s a bit insane. Will I just be asked to pay it all back or will they wait until a P800 is done?
